OUR
MUSIC DIRECTOR and CONDUCTOR
Lisa Sherwood is the Music Director and Conductor of The Flute Symphony of Lexington. A graduate of Eastern Michigan Univeristy with a Bachelor of Music Education Vocal, Lisa has performed, directed, accompanied, and arranged music for adult and children's musicals both in Community Theatre, High School musicals, and University Theatre productions, as well as teaching music in public and private schools, ages kindergarten through 12th grade in Michigan, her home state, and Ohio. Lisa also gives private lessons in piano and voice.
Before moving to Lexington, Lisa was the Musical Director, Arranger, and Accompanist for the Dearborn, Michigan Children's Theatre Company, The Guildlings for seven years, as well as an actress in community theatres in Michigan and Cincinnati.
A professional singer, song writer and performer since High School, Lisa began playing the flute in 2001. In 2005 Lisa joined FSL and was a member thru 2007. That year Lisa began professional flute performing with a friend. They were known as "Duetto". That same year Lisa began composing and arranging flute music. Her compositions include:

Presently Lisa plays flute professionally with two groups - Flutes In Harmony and Love Notes Flute Trio and also sings with Languid Blue in and around Lexington/Fayette County Area.
Besides all of the above Lisa is a Worship leader for St. Patricks Anglican Church.
The Flute Symphony of Lexington is proud to have Lisa as our Director and Conductor. Lisa has an extraordinary abillity to communicate the essence of musical ideas, and has already begun to raise the bar for the group.
